Structure, dynamics and thermodynamics of solid/liquid interfaces

Abstract

Our group aims to provide a microscopic characterisation of solid/liquid interfaces at the atomistic and molecular level in order to: i) understand the influence of the solid surface on the peculiar properties of confined liquids; ii) unveil the role played by interfacial interactions on more macroscopic phenomena, such as crystal growth and morphology; iii) provide a microscopic interpretation of interface selective experiments, such interfacial vibrational spectroscopy.
